A four year career plan

Freshman Year

  • Enroll in the iWork Program if you are interested in working to pay down your college debt. This will help you work toward your financial goals as well as start on your professional development journey. Establish your financial goals and make a plan for how to pay off what you are responsible for. Contact Ryan Jolley at jjolley@trevecca.edu for more information.
  • Attend the part time job fair in the fall and spring to meet employers and on campus departments hiring students
  • Take StrengthsFinder and MBTI inventories as part of Link/Trek through TypeFocus (INT 1100)
  • Familiarize yourself with the career development resources in the Center for Leadership, Calling and Service (CLCS).
  • Attend the S3 Career Services Workshop in the fall (You are required to attend one S3 for INT 1100)
  • If you are undecided, begin thinking about a major. If you are unsure of a major, contact CLCS.
  • Begin creating a resume. If you need help, resources are available on the Career Services website or you can make an appointment with Nicole Hubbs at nhubbs@trevecca.edu.
  • Follow iWork and Career Services on social media to find out about job openings and internships.

Sophomore Year

  • Consider volunteering at organizations in town or back home that interest you. This will help you build your professional network!
  • Attend the part time job fair in the fall and spring to meet employers and on campus departments hiring students
  • Attend the Career Services workshops on various topics
  • Meet with faculty in your major and pick their brain about their subject

  • Familiarize yourself with the career development resources in CLCS. Visit our website.
  • If you are undecided, begin thinking about a major. If you are unsure of a major, contact CLCS.

  • Remain mindful of your financial goals and any schools debt you might have. Consider joining iWork if you haven’t yet!

  • Begin thinking about your career transition from part time to full time. Start networking with employers, faculty and staff who have contacts in your major. Consider having several informational interviews to network.
  • Participate in internship experiences off campus
