"You are meeting people where they hurt and where they have needs."

-Joe Cole; Dept. of Exercise & Sport Science

The Exercise Science major explores aspects of human motion for health and fitness, sports and conditioning, and continued studies in fields of therapy. By examining joints, actions, muscles, forces, laws of motion, and energy pathways, we can help provide safer training, faster times, stronger lifts, improved endurance, increased max VO2, and better biomechanics of motion for improved health and fitness or sport. Each area of concentration gives students a specific focus in exercise science-related vocations and an understanding of how biblical principles apply to the application of exercise science vocations.

Concentrations in the major

  • Personal Training/Strength and Conditioning
  • Pre-Physical Therapy
  • Pre-Occupational Therapy/Athletic Training

What our students say

"The professors and coaches are the reason why the Exercise Science program strives. They truly care about their students' success and work closely with us to make sure we get the best education possible. The advisors are also extremely helpful when it comes to scheduling classes, finding internships, and whatever else you might need. Their doors are always open if you ever just want to come in and ask questions.

Students are able to learn in a Christian environment. Getting an education intertwined with Christian beliefs and traditions is something rare. Not only are we learning about our future occupations, but we also learn how to work for God's glory."
