Jonathan is the vice president for academic affairs and accreditation and a professor of leadership studies at Trevecca. He has served Trevecca as an academic administrator since 2017, and also as the chair of the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Prior to that, he served for 18 years as a staff member, full-time School of Education faculty member, and administrator at Olivet Nazarene University, his alma mater. He holds a B.S. in music education from Olivet Nazarene University, an M.S. in instructional systems technology from Indiana University-Bloomington, and a Ph.D. in education with a higher education emphasis from Capella University. He believes the Lord called him to Christian higher education administration in 2011, and over the years, he has served as a program director, department chair, dean of the graduate school, associate vice-president, associate provost and vice president at Olivet and Trevecca. Jonathan has also served as a peer evaluator for two regional accrediting bodies, the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (HLC-NCA) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). He is a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene, and he, his wife, and three boys are members of the Hermitage Church of the Nazarene in the MidSouth District in Tennessee.
