Position Description

The Department of Computer and Information Sciences invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.  The departmental mission is to develop and equip exceptional collaborators who impact the world through the transformative application of the computer and information sciences.  Offering bachelor degrees in information systems, information technology, and computer science, the department positions itself within the School of STEM, participating in a highly energetic and synergistic academic environment. The career focused curriculum aims to equip creative and technical problem-solvers, communicators, and collaborators.

The primary foci are teaching excellence and mission alignment.  In cooperation with other faculty in the department and school, the candidate will develop and deliver innovative courses at the undergraduate level, with infrequent opportunities for graduate level professional teaching.  The modality is primarily face-2-face, but fully online and hybrid opportunities exist.  Additional responsibilities include academic advising, engagement in community and professional groups, and serving on university committees.  A passion for working with undergraduate students in the Christian higher education setting is essential.

The review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. or D.B.A. degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, software engineering, cybersecurity, game design, artificial intelligence, data analytics, informatics, cloud computing, or closely related fields is preferred.  Consideration will be given to candidates holding a master’s degree, industry experience, and teaching experience.  The successful candidate will have content expertise and teaching passion to develop the creative minds of undergraduate students in the computer and information science disciplines.
