Marketing Communications Writer

Position Summary

Produce clear, effective written content related to marketing, advertising and PR communications for the University.

Reporting Relationship

This entry-level position reports to the marketing communications director.

Duties and Responsibilities

This role will help advance the Trevecca brand through content and messaging. The most common duties will include producing content for marketing communications. Regular assignments will include the following:

• Promote undergraduate enrollment, graduate and adult education enrollment, academics and other areas of the University through written content.
• Produce messaging for creative multichannel communications, including websites, blogs, email, printed collateral, news releases, an alumni magazine and social media.
• Research, draft and edit content in collaboration with stakeholders that often include Trevecca faculty, staff, students, alumni and other subject matter experts.
• Accept and implement requested revisions and edits.
• Organize and manage news clips, story leads and content calendars.
• Provide SEO support through copywriting and editing.
• As needed, write succinct, effective advertising copy for digital, outdoor, print and radio ads.
• Coordinate with and/or supervise student workers on the communications team, when applicable.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

Undergraduate degree required with journalism/copywriting/communications experience. Experience writing for varied marketing and PR channels preferred.
