The Graduate Counseling Program invites qualified individuals to apply for an assistant professor position to commence August 2021 in the masters and doctoral programs at Trevecca Nazarene University. Job responsibilities include teaching courses within the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) or Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy (MFC/T) programs, advising and mentoring students within the masters’ program, along with assigned departmental and University committees. The programs at Trevecca are taught from a traditional face-to-face format although knowledge of Trevecca’s learning management system is beneficial. Annual teaching load is 18 semester hours, with overload course teaching in the summer semester. Faculty research and participation/leadership in state and national professional organizations are expected and supported by the division and university.

The Graduate Counseling Program offers master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy (MFC/T), and a Ph.D. in Clinical Counseling: Teaching and Supervision.  All programs are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).  Trevecca Nazarene University is a Christian community providing education for leadership and service. The University is located in Nashville, Tennessee.

Qualifications

The successful candidate for this position will have earned a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision. Graduation from a CACREP-accredited program is preferred. Experience in teaching and supervision is advantageous. Candidates should be licensed or eligible for licensure as an LPC-MHSP or LMFT in Tennessee. Trevecca seeks candidates with a strong Christian testimony and an unwavering commitment to Christ-centered teaching and learning.   Successful candidates will show evidence of personal faith, comfort with the Nazarene theological perspective, and be committed to the integration of Christian faith in teaching and practice. A willingness to develop and teach online courses is desired.
